Description

Champion a global university with regional roots and international ambition

The University of Galway is seeking an outstanding strategic leader to become its new Vice-President: Global & Regional Engagement.

This newly configured executive leadership role will play a pivotal part in strengthening the University’s reputation, partnerships and impact across Ireland and internationally. Reporting directly to the President and serving on the University Management Team, the successful candidate will lead a broad portfolio spanning internationalisation, engagement, advancement, fundraising, marketing and communications.

The Vice-President will provide strategic leadership across international student recruitment and mobility, regional and global partnerships, alumni engagement, philanthropic fundraising, public affairs, reputation management and communications. Working closely with academic and professional services colleagues, you will develop and deliver an ambitious engagement agenda that enhances the University’s profile, influence and impact while supporting its educational and research ambitions.

We are seeking a dynamic, collaborative and politically astute leader with significant senior-level experience in one or more of the areas represented within the portfolio, including internationalisation, communications, marketing, advancement, fundraising or external relations. You will bring a proven record of strategic delivery, stakeholder engagement, organisational leadership and partnership development, together with the ability to lead complex change and inspire teams to achieve ambitious goals.

This role offers a unique opportunity to shape how a leading research-intensive university connects with its region, engages with the world and amplifies its international reputation.
