Description

Shape the future of education at one of Ireland’s leading universities

The University of Galway is seeking an exceptional academic leader to become its inaugural Vice-President: Education & Student Success.

This newly established role sits at the heart of the University’s ambitious strategic agenda and offers a rare opportunity to shape the educational experience of more than 20,000 students. Reporting directly to the President and serving as a member of the University Management Team, the successful candidate will lead the delivery of the University’s Educational Excellence and Student Success strategies, ensuring an outstanding, inclusive and future-focused learning experience for every student.

The Vice-President will provide strategic leadership across teaching, learning, curriculum development, assessment, student engagement and student outcomes. Working collaboratively across Colleges, Schools and Professional Services, you will champion innovation in education, including institutional approaches to artificial intelligence, while fostering a culture of educational excellence, inclusion, creativity and continuous improvement. You will also lead the University’s approach to access, participation, progression and student success, ensuring that students are equipped to thrive in an evolving global environment.

We are seeking a distinguished academic of professorial standing with substantial experience of leading educational strategy and transformational change in a complex organisation. You will bring a strong track record of delivering improvement, inspiring colleagues and building partnerships, alongside a deep understanding of teaching, learning, quality assurance and student success.

This is an outstanding opportunity to help define the future of a globally connected, research-intensive university at a pivotal moment in its development.
